You should have two to keep each other company.
Our dog's name was Spike.
Hamsters are not social animals and will fight if put together.
I have had 2 hamsters at once who did no fight,except in play. :)
Like you, I like rodents,but prefer rats.They're more intelligent han hamsters and learn their own name and come when called.
